FAMAR Announces Mara Candido as Chief Commercial Officer

FAMAR, a leading European contract development and manufacturing organization, announces the appointment of Mara Candido as Chief Commercial Officer, effective 26 August 2026. 

In her new role, Mara will lead an integrated commercial organization encompassing Business Development, Account Management, together with Marketing, and Sales Operations, while maintaining oversight of Development Services. This unified structure is designed to further strengthen collaboration across functions, enhance customer engagement, and support FAMAR’s long-term growth ambitions. Mara joined FAMAR in March 2026. She has more than 30 years of international experience in commercial strategy, business development, and supply chain within the pharmaceutical and CDMO industry. 

This transition also marks the departure of Avra Gouveri, who will be leaving FAMAR after more than 22 years with the company. During her tenure, Avra played a pivotal role in shaping FAMAR’s commercial strategy, strengthening customer partnerships, and supporting the Group’s growth and transformation. FAMAR sincerely thanks Avra for her dedication, leadership, and significant contribution over the years and wishes her every success in her future endeavors.
